What are the rules for solving exponents?

The rules for solving exponents are quite simple. An exponent is a number that tells you how many times a number should be multiplied. For example, if you see the number 2 with an exponent of 3, it would mean that you must multiply 2 by itself three times. 2 x 2 x 2 = 8. So the answer would be 8.
